What Is Vitreous Hemorrhage?
The vitreous is a clear gel that fills much of the inside of the eye. Bleeding into this space can interfere with the passage of light and cause blurred or reduced vision.
Common Causes
Vitreous hemorrhage can be associated with conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, retinal tears, retinal detachment and other retinal vascular problems.
Treatment
Treatment depends on the cause and severity. Some cases may be monitored, while others may require laser treatment, injections or vitreoretinal surgery.
